D – This year’s edition of the viscom – the International Trade Fair for Visual Communication was staged in Frankfurt from November 5-7, 2014. The event organised by Reed Exhibitions Germany alternates annually between Frankfurt and Düsseldorf.
According to the official figures, 325 exhibitors from 29 nations presented their products and services to 10,064 visitors. Two years ago, 12,075 visitors used the trade fair to gather comprehensive information on the topic of visual communication – the 17% decline in attendance was no doubt attributable to the strike of the Union of German Engine Drivers. Because otherwise the event has been characterised by expansion and success for years – for example both floors of Hall 3 of the Frankfurt Exhibition Centre were occupied for the first time ever.
The event encompassed six exhibition areas: large format printing, signmaking, object design, digital signage, POS display and POS packaging. A highlight: the 800 m² “world of inspiration” special zone, where best practice examples from all segments were presented. Several promotional products players were also represented in Frankfurt. The next viscom is scheduled to take place in Düsseldorf from November 4-6, 2015.
