EU – Thomas A.M. Hendriksen has been appointed by the General Members Meeting of EPPA (European Promotional Products Association) to the position of President and CEO. The out-going President Hans Poulis retired from this function as his agenda requires more time for his job as President of the IGC group, the worldwide partner in promotional products and gifts, based in Rotterdam.
Hendriksen and the new board are stepping in at a challenging moment. The first CSR certificates have been issued and the certification will be rolled out within Europe. The market is challenging and moving quickly, also legislation and the code of conduct are two priority issues.
Hendriksen: “All these issues have to be taken care of and also I will concentrate on a closer relationship with the member countries and with Brussels. I will look for new funding, so that our organisation can fulfil its role in an even better way. Our market has been taken seriously within Brussels just because we have EPPA representing 28,000 companies within Europe dealing with our products. In times of change you need an industry organisation as a platform.”
Therefore the new EPPA board consists of Thomas A.M. Hendriksen (Chairman of the Advisory Board of PPP Netherlands), Gabriel Moese Ruiz (President FYVAR – Asociación de Fabricantes y Vendedores de Artículos de Regalo Publicitario y Promocional Spain/Portugal), Annette Scott (Promota Great Britain), Ralf Samuel (Secretary BWL Bundesverband der Werbeartikel-Lieferanten Germany) and Kjell Harbom (Chairman of SBPR, Svensk Branschförening för Profil- och Reklamprodukter Sweden)
