UK – Once again this year the BPMA (British Promotional Merchandise Association) organised a Christmas lunch. Over 200 guests from supplier and distributor companies met up at the Guoman Tower Hotel in the British capital on December 13, 2013 to network, exchange news and celebrate together. The BPMA Chairwoman, Viv Blumfield, reviewed the activities of the industry in the past year and also gave an outlook for 2014: For example the BPMA intends to carry out image profiling for the promotional product again this year in the scope of the Promotional Products Week from September 15-19, 2014. Furthermore, the association has scheduled the premiere of the BPMA Conference, a networking and information event for suppliers and distributors, for July 10, 2014.
A further point on the agenda was the presentation of two awards: The “Innovative Product/Innovative Service of the Year” Award went to The Pen Warehouse and Dorian Tranter (United Brands of Scandinavia) was distinguished as “Salesperson of the Year”. Last, but not least the BPMA collected donations for a charity campaign: In total 4,150 British pounds (approx. 5,000 Euros) were donated to the cancer aid organisation, Macmillan Cancer Support.
