UK – The British promotional products industry meets up every year just before Xmas for a festive Christmas Lunch in London: The event is organised by the industry association, BPMA (British Promotional Merchandise Association). 205 BPMA members – suppliers and distributors – took part in the event, which was held on December 14, 2012 at the Guoman Tower Hotel. In his speech the BPMA Chairman, Neil Beagles, looked back on a successful year for the association: Diverse activities within the industry, which particularly addressed the users, had contributed towards reinforcing the standing of the BPMA as the British industry’s most important organisation. He explained that one had not only intensified the exchange with other marketing institutions, but that various market research activities and surveys had made the promotional products market more transparent for its members. Beagles stated that the association is extremely proud of its educational activities, which will continue to be one of the association’s focal points in the coming year in its attempt to further professionalize the industry.
The Chairman Beagles was distinguished with a coveted award: He was presented with the BPMA’s “Sword of Honour“. The BPMA uses the award to pay tribute to special services rendered to the association, the sword is not awarded at regular intervals, but instead sporadically to exceptionally worthy candidates.
A detailed report will follow in eppi magazine No. 91 (February 13, 2013).
