D – Inventors from all over the globe presented innovations for the world of tomorrow at the international trade show “Ideas – Inventions – Novelties”, iENA 2022. New devices and technologies could be admired at the Nuremberg Exhibition Centre from October 27–30, 2022.

According to the organisers, exhibitors from 26 countries showcased 530 inventions, which as well as prototypes and concepts also encompassed products that are ready for market launch. Novelties from all walks of life, i.e. the medical, energy technology, environmental protection and safety sectors, were on display from scientific innovations through to practical everyday assistants. The exhibiting inventors were able to network, receive advice from the German Patent and Trademark Office and hold initial licensing discussions with business representatives.

Jugend forscht presented a novel surveillance robot at the iENA.

The National Research Council of Thailand, which brought many inventions from the South East Asian country with it, partnered the trade show this year. Young inventors from Jugend forscht (Youth Researches), the Students’ Research Centre South Wuerrtemberg, the Maristengymnasium Fürstenzell, the Apian-Gymnasium Ingolstadt and the Inventors’ Club Nussknacker, who had all developed interesting innovations, were also present. The Nuremberg Innovation Congress that was staged parallel to the trade show was a further meeting point for the inventor scene. According to the expert jury of the iENA, the quality of the inventions was exceptionally high this year. The Managing Directors of the exhibition organisers AFAG, Henning and Thilo Könicke, were delighted: “The iENA proves once again that innovations are of high social significance especially during challenging times.”
