UK – Almost 80% of the recipients feel “appreciated”, 47% are “happy” when they receive a promotional product – these are two of the results of a survey, which the BPMA (British Promotional Merchandise Association) published at the beginning of October 2017. The association had interviewed more than 200 end users on the theme of haptic advertising at the trade shows Marketing Week Live and B2B Marketing Expo. 89% of the respondents stated, that they had at least one, 81% at least two promotional products on their desks, including primarily writing instruments (66%), notepads (43%) or cups (20%). With regards to the requirements that the products have to satisfy, usefulness was clearly seen to be the top priority (50%). The products are among others implemented at trade shows (66%), for customer loyalty purposes (52%) or as incentives (37%).
The survey is part of the activities surrounding the Promotional Products Week, a nationwide campaign for haptic advertising, which the BPMA carried out for the fourth time from October 2-6, 2017. Numerous member companies contributed with creative ideas to the media campaign, which centred on the hashtag #ThankYouPPW: Since, according to the BPMA survey, promotional products convey appreciation, the association called upon people to post thank you messages – including products to match. Numerous contributions can be found on the web.
