F – On January 24, after running for four days, this year’s spring edition of Maison&Object came to a close at the Paris Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre after achieving an increase in attendance of good 12%. According to the official figures, 85,825 trade visitors (January 2016: 76,417) attended the international trade show for design, living trends and interiors, which is organised by SAFI, a subsidiary of Ateliers d’Art de France and Reed Exhibitions France. In comparison to last year’s January edition, the number of international visitors also rose, by 17.4%. The highest increase came from the Russian visitors (+59%), followed closely by visitors from Japan (+58%). The share of visitors from the USA grew by 29%.
A slight decline in the number of exhibitors was registered: 2,871 companies (January 2016: 2,978), including 800 first-time exhibitors and 1,719 exhibitors from abroad came to Paris to showcase their line-ups. As usual, the show was accompanied by a comprehensive supporting programme, including numerous lectures, the distinction of the best aspiring young designers, workshops and diverse special areas.
This year’s September edition of the Maison&Objet Paris is scheduled from September 8-12.
