UK – This year’s Promotional Product Expo, which was staged on January 25-26, 2017 at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry, England was an anniversary edition: The British industry service provider, Customer Focus, organised its trade fair, which was called the Trade Only National Show up until 2016, for the 10th time. Once again, the two-day show heralded in the New Year for the British promotional products industry. Not only renowned big suppliers and smaller specialists from the United Kingdom were among the exhibitors, but also numerous companies from the European mainland, for whom the event is a significant point of contact to the British promotional products market.
With, according to the official figures, over 200 exhibitors (2016: over 300) fewer suppliers exhibited than in the past year, which meant that only one hall was occupied. This time the foyer remained empty. According to official accounts, more than 2,000 visitors (2016: around 2,500) were offered an interesting and diversified product mix. A busy, positive mood prevailed – also at the evening event, which Customer Focus had revamped this year: Instead of the traditional dinner on the evening of the first exhibition day, this time the organisers invited the guests to the casino of the Ricoh Arena.
According to Customer Focus, Promotional Product Expo is to close after this year’s show: For January 2018, a new event named Resellex was announced. No exact date or venue have been confirmed yet. According to an announcement on the new resellex Website, which is to be fully launched in Spring, Resellex, The Reseller Expo, will include “the best products, services, technologies, marketing tools and business supply partners”. At the heart of the new format will be a conference to feature renowned international speakers.
A detailed report will be printed in eppi magazine, No. 115 (February 15, 2017).
