USA – American Apparel has a new CEO: After the resignation of Paula Schneider on October 3, 2016, Chelsea Grayson has taken over the reins of the highly-indebted Californian clothes brand. Grayson had been employed as Director of the Legal Department and Head Administrator of American Apparel since November 2014, prior to that she was partner at the Loeb & Loeb law firm. She previously spent 13 years working at the Jones Day law firm, where she was responsible for fusions and take-overs.
Just a few weeks ago, diverse media had reported that American Apparel was on the brink of being sold. The resignation of Paula Schneider, who had been CEO of the fashion label since January 2015, followed Paul Charron leaving the company, who had only been appointed Chairman of the Board in March.
