UK – The for the time being last edition of the Sourcing City Marketplace took place at the FIVE Show Centre in Farnborough on September 21 and 22, 2016. Namely in 2017, the organisers, the British industry service provider, Sourcing City, intends to initiate a new event together with the British association, BPMA (British Promotional Merchandise Association).
Regardless of this, the concept of the format still proved to be successful even at the last Sourcing City Marketplace: Unlike at conventional trade fairs, the event is based on a “Speed Dating” concept: The promotional products distributors invited – a certain minimum turnover is the prerequisite for an invitation – have the opportunity to book appointments in advance with the participating suppliers. According to the official accounts, around 90 suppliers took part this year, in total over 1,250 consulting sessions were held.
Sourcing City and the BPMA intend to announce details about the new show, which is also expected to take place in September, shortly.
