USA – According to media reports, the US American textile specialist, American Apparel is to be sold. Apparently, the company founder and former CEO, Dov Charney, who had to leave the company in 2014 after being accused of sexual harassment and embezzlement is also one of the potential buyers.
Furthermore, the highly-indebted fashion company, which currently still belongs to its former creditors (among others Standard General and Monarch Capital), is evidently also relocating to another US state that has a lower wage structure. A factory in Los Angeles for knitted items is already to be closed in October 2016. American Apparel has not commented on the rumours hitherto.
