D – The Newsweek 2016 toured round Germany for eleven days, granting promotional products distributors and their customers an insight into the latest creations of the promotional products industry at eight locations. Attractive product presentations in a special ambiance impressed 4,074 visitors – a significant increase compared to the previous year when 3,823 visitors were recorded.

As last year, the event series kicked off in Leipzig on May 30 with 412 visitors, followed by Berlin (611 visitors), Hamburg (533 visitors) and Wuppertal (427 visitors), one day later in each case. In the second week, the tour started in Munch on June 6 (427 visitors), continuing on to Nuremberg (456 visitors) and subsequently to Stuttgart (498 visitors). The final venue of the roadshow organised by the GWW (German Association of the Promotional Products Industry e.V.) was Frankfurt on June 9, where 651 people attended the forum at the Frankfurt Exhibition Centre. As in past years, venues were chosen that displayed a special flair, good accessibility and a certain size, in order to offer the 84 supplier partners and the distributors with in some cases inviting counters a generous amount of exhibition space. Due to the poor interest last year, the organisers chose not to stage the traditional Distributors’ Day that took place in Wuppertal in 2015.

With a strong increase of 230 guests, the location Hamburg surprised both the organisers and the exhibitors, whereas Leipzig was slightly disappointing compared to the premiere event last year. The GWW Chairman, Patrick Politze, put the significant increase in attendance down to the excellent commitment of the distributors.

A further report will appear in eppi magazine, No. 112 (August 24, 2016).
