Victorinox: New positioning of the brand Wenger

CH – With the relaunch of the brand Wenger on the occasion of the Baselworld 2016 as well as the construction of a watch competence centre in Delémont, Switzerland, Victorinox is underlining its intention to sustainably invest in the international establishment of Wenger as well as in the traditional location in the Jura canton.

Wenger will concentrate on the production of reliable, functional and well thought-out products in the categories watches and suitcases. The relaunch also includes a revised image: Inspired by Swiss design principles, Wenger is differentiating itself with its new, consistent linear design, a confident typography and colour scheme as well as a contemporary visual image.

Wenger was founded as a knife factory in Courtételle, near Delémont, in 1893 and in addition to Victorinox was the only manufacturer to produce the world-famous Swiss Army Knife. From 1997 onwards, the product range was expanded to include watches and later also suitcases. In 2005, the company was taken over by Victorinox. In 2013, Victorinox integrated the Wenger knives into its own collection.
