UK – On May 19, 2016 the Annual Conference of the British industry association BPMA (British Promotional Merchandise Association) took place at the Park Inn Hotel and Conference Centre in Heathrow. According to the official figures, 150 members took part in the event that was held under the motto “It’s all about service”. In total nine seminars were staged in three conference rooms. The BPMA additionally announced the results of the second Mystery Shopper project, which the association had carried out among its members. Following the test purchase method, member companies were assessed according to their service and product quality. The conference was brought to a close with a keynote session by Kevin Byrne, founder of the online search engine and evaluation platform checkatrade.com. Furthermore, promotional products distributors and industry and marketing experts held animated discussions in a sociable round and used the event for networking.
The annual conference was rounded off in the evening with the BPMA Awards Dinner including the awards ceremony. Whereas Pro-Ad won the award in the category Catalogue Cover of the Year and Outstanding Branding claimed the prize in the category Website of the Year, Allwag Promotions was delighted to pick up the award for the Employer of the Year. Dorian Tranter of Desktop Ideas was honoured as Account Manager of the Year.
