American Apparel: New Chairman

americanapparel_Fabrik_250x154USA – According to US press reports the American textile specialist, American Apparel, has appointed Paul Charron as its Chairman of the Board. In addition to Charron, who was among others CEO of the fashion company, Liz Claiborne, up until 2006, Susan Davidson and Bruce Fetter were also elected onto the Supervisory Board. Davidson is CEO of the designer label, Zac Posen, and of the fashion boutique, Scoop; Fetter is CEO of the Californian fashion label, St. John Knits. Paula Schneider, who has been the new Executive Director of American Apparel since January 5, 2015, remains on the board. Three further places on the board are reserved for representatives of the bondholders. American Apparel applied for creditor protection on 5 October 2015 according to Chapter 11 of American bankruptcy law and came to an agreement with the majority of its creditors regarding a restructuration of the debts.
