I – The second edition of the Promotion expo Gift & Premium took place in Milan on March 16 and 17, 2016. After the successful premiere last year, this year’s promotional products show was staged parallel to the ShopExpo, which focuses on products, ideas and novelties for the retail trade. Both formats are organised by the Italian publishing company and exhibition organiser, O.P.S. (Organizzazione Promozione Spazi), and according to the organisers were able to profit significantly from synergy effects. According to the official figures, 1,893 visitors (2015: 1,031) followed the invitation to visit the event location, The Mall, with its futuristic appearance, where both trade shows were held in direct proximity to each other on one floor – albeit with different colour schemes and with separate entrances.

The two-day event was accompanied by numerous specialised lectures and discussion rounds, which offered the participants the opportunity to bring their know-how up-to-date and inform themselves about the trends and secrets of successful campaigns. Furthermore, in cooperation with the Italian section of the POPAI (Point of Purchase Advertising International), the participants of this year’s POPAI Italy Award, which distinguishes special POS tools, displays and digital POS media, were exhibited in a special zone at the ShopExpo.
