Mega Show Part I, Hong Kong

CN – The first part of this year’s Mega Show – the event comprises of two shows, there is a three day dismantling and assembly phase in between – was staged from October 20-23, 2015 at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) as usual. According to the official figures, in the course of the first part of the event, which incidentally took place for the 24th time this year and which is organised by Kenfair and the Mega Expo (Hong Kong) Limited – 3,406 suppliers from 31 countries and regions presented their products and services at 4,557 stands. In addition to that there were official country pavilions from Bangladesh, Mainland China, India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Philippines, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, UK and Vietnam.

The various halls of the HKCEC were occupied by the different segments of the show: Gift & Premium, Toys & Games, Kitchen & Dining, Christmas & Seasonal, Houseware & Home Decor, Giftware & Packaging, Baby & Nursery and Glassware Trends. The premiere of the Design Studio was housed in the Convention Hall. The official attendance figures were not available at the time of going to press, around 50,000 visitors were expected from more than 120 countries.

The focus of the items from the promotional product market lay on smartphones and electronic devices, for example power banks, USB sticks and electronic fitness bracelets and watches. A further main theme was recycling and ecological items. The exhibitors mostly presented their line-ups at uniform stands. A remarkable number of the exhibitors drew attention to their certifications.
