UK – The Sourcing City Marketplace took place on October 7 and 8, 2015 at the FIVE Show Centre in Farnborough, near London. Around 100 suppliers presented their products and services at uniform stands and were available for customer discussions. Unlike at classic industry events, at the Sourcing City Marketplace the majority of the promotional products distributors – the show is exclusively open to companies with a minimum turnover of 250,000 Pounds – arrange appointments with the exhibitors in advance. Each appointment lasts exactly 30 minutes and only very few products are displayed at the stands of the exhibitors, so that the focus of the dialogues can be placed more on the service portfolio of the suppliers.
In total, the organisers recorded over 2,000 appointments over the two days of the show. The exhibitors praised both the quality of the visitors and the professional organisation of the event. In addition to the catering, a mobile tea wagon served the participants with drinks and snacks directly at the exhibition stands. The VIP Network Dinner that was held on the first evening of the show, which was attended by around 200 guests according to official statements, and the Purple Club Drinks Reception offered plenty of opportunity for networking. A further edition of the Sourcing City Marketplace is planned for 2016.
