D – This year’s summer meeting of the new United Federation of the German Promotional Products Industry, GWW, took place on August 31. The meeting was the first of its kind for the industry’s new united federation and in addition to several personnel decisions being taken, it also radiated a significant mood of change.
The harmonious get-together of the different industry participants, who are organised under the new federation in four sections – suppliers, consultants, brand name companies and business partners – received unanimous praise. Among others, the sections elected their respective section spokespersons and representatives: Frank Ohle (Senator) and Jürgen Geiger (Geiger-Notes) for the section suppliers, Ronald Eckert (Döbler) and Karin Lindenberg (Mansard) for the section consultants, Frank Dangmann (Lamy) and Sven Weiß (Eilers) for the section brand name companies and Manfred Schlösser (PSI) and Martin Heinemann (CDH) for the section business partners. Together with the GWW Chairman Patrick Politze and Michael Freter from the PSI, the section spokespersons will run for election onto the Executive Board at the Annual General Meeting of the GWW in December. The GWW also has a revised advisory board. It currently comprises of ten members: Josef Bösl (Kahla), Gabriele Bühring (Bühring), Karl Helesic (Impressiv), Holger Kapanski (DIE6), Meinhard Mombauer (LM Accessoires), Michael Puchtler (Giving Europe), Marco Römisch (Burg Services), Michael Scherer from the new GWW member, WA Media, Wolfgang Schmidt (Promowolsch) and Ralf Uwe Schneider (Michael Schiffer). As the only industry representative of the German promotional products market, the GWW currently has just under 300 members.
