Cartamundi wants to take over Hasbro production locations

B/USA – The Belgian playing cards group, Cartamundi, tentatively wants to take over the production of Hasbro in the third quarter of 2015. According to an official press release, both companies have signed the intention to sell the Hasbro production locations in East Longmeadow (USA) and Waterford (Ireland) to the Cartamundi Group.

Cartamundi is according to own sources, the world leader in the production and sales of playing cards, card games and cards for board games. In the scope of the existing declaration, it was agreed that Cartamundi offers the Hasbro employees the opportunity to carry on working for them under comparable conditions. The announced take-over includes all buildings, grounds and equipment. The premises at the location in East Longmeadow comprises of almost 107,000 m² with a headcount of 350 full-time employees. In Waterford, approx. 22,500 m² and 160 full-time employees are being taken over.
