UK – On July 9, 2015 the BPMA (British Promotional Merchandise Association) held its second Annual Conference at the Park Inn Heathrow under the motto “Future Proof Your Business”. According to official sources, more than 220 members of the association attended one to one sessions with experts and seminars on relevant themes including PR, pensions, legislation and product safety. Furthermore, the market research company Facts International released the findings of a BPMA commissioned survey that revealed amongst other things the results of their distributor mystery shopper survey which caused a stir amongst the delegates present: Highlights of the study revealed that many distributors need to more proactively engage with customers, question them, understand them and take the time to offer alternatives. The survey found that 72% of marketers have been unhappy with promotional merchandise they had purchased and their providers.
The Conference was followed by the BPMA Annual Business Awards Dinner which, according to the organisers, was attended by over 120 people. During the course of the evening, the BPMA presented four key business awards: Website of the Year (Fluid Branding), Professional Development Student of the Year (Louise DeSilva from Outstanding Branding), Newcomer of the Year (Corporate Creations) and Employer of the Year (Matrix APA).
