D – Since 2003, suppliers have set off on tour throughout Germany in the scope of the Newsweek. This year, the novelty show organised by the GWW (General Association of the Promotional Products Industry e.V.), which industry customers have also been invited to via the participating trading partners since 2006, was divided up into two blocks.
The first part of the Newsweek was staged from May 5-7, 2015 in Leipzig, Berlin and Hamburg. According to the official figures, 1,369 visitors took advantage of the opportunity to inform themselves about the current product highlights at the stands of the 87 exhibitors and collect ideas for future campaigns. The second part of the Newsweek kicked off with the Trade Day on June 8, in Wuppertal. The event day that exclusively targets promotional products distributors and their employees only attracted 81 participants. One day later, promotional products distributors from the region were also given the opportunity to invite their customers to the venue. The product show then moved on to Frankfurt, Stuttgart and Nuremberg, before coming to a close on June 17, in Munich. The second part of the event attracted 2,454 interested industry customers and all stations of the tour were able to register an increase in attendance compared to the previous year.
Overall, 3,823 visitors attended the eight industry days nationwide (2014: 2,914 visitors), whereby Leipzig celebrated its premiere this year as a new venue location in the Newsweek tour.
A detailed report on the Newsweek will be published in the coming issue of eppi magazine, No. 106 (August 26, 2015).
