CN – This year’s spring meeting of the international distributor group Ippag (International Partnership for Premiums & Gifts) took place on April 25 and 26, 2015 at the Auberge Discovery Bay Hotel in Hong Kong.
After a get-together of the Ippag members – only one member company is allowed to join per country – on the evening of April 24, the official meeting got underway the next day, addressing initially general issues and formalities, such as for example the budget planning for 2015 and a review of the 2014 finances. Furthermore, new members introduced themselves and the attendees were given an insight into the “Open Space Forum”, which is being held from September 23-27, 2015 in Nice. The distributor alliance will celebrate its 50th anniversary during the course of the forum. The retirement of the outgoing President Søren Langhoff (Langhoff AS, DK) was also addressed in detail in the course of the meeting – he is succeeded by Thibaut Fontaine (mcs Kick & Rush, B). In the afternoon of the first meeting day, Rick Brenner, Chairman of the American industry association PPAI (Promotional Products Association International) and Paul Bellantone, CEO of the PPAI, reported on the haptic advertising market in the USA. Subsequently, the Ippag members were given the opportunity to play beach volleyball on a sandy beach and brought the day to a pleasant close with a joint dinner.
On the second day of the meeting, among other things the members presented case studies and discussed difficult themes such as the consequences of the Ukraine crisis and the unstable political situation in various countries and regions of the Arabic world. In his capacity as a guest speaker, Willem van Walt Meijer brought the meeting to a close with an explanation of the new structure of Polyconcept International Markets.
