100 Years of Caran d‘Ache

Caran d'Ache_Anniversary_300x214CH – The Swiss writing instrument manufacturer, Caran d’Ache, is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. The company that was founded in 1915 under the name Fabrique genevoise de crayons was taken over by Arnold Schweitzer in 1924 and to pay tribute to the French caricaturist, Emmanuel Poiré, it was renamed Caran d’Ache, the caricaturist’s pseudonym. Up until this very day, the manufacturer from Geneva is considered to be a specialist for graphite pencils and crayons as well as for materials for fine arts and for luxury writing instruments. Over 90 artisan professions are carried out in the workshop, in order to bring the products that are well-known all over the world to life.
