Mbw Quality Manager, Lutz Franke, with the new certificate.

D – mbw, Wanderup, has renewed its Oeko-Tex certificate. „We have once again invested in order to be able to offer our customers continued quality and safety,” commented Walter Both, CEO of the import company from Northern Germany. All Oeko-Tex-certified products were tested in compliance with the Oeko-Tex-Standard 100, Product Class 1, which applies to textiles and textile toys for babies and toddlers aged up to three and is as such the strictest Oeko-Tex certification at all. All of the materials implemented were tested – for example in the case of a cuddly toy, as well as the plush exterior, also the filling, the colour, the eyes and the yarn. In addition to over 30 items of the MiniFeet® brand, among other things, the felt items manufactured in Germany, microfiber cloths and cherry stone pillows were Oeko-Tex-certified.

Mbw also is setting a clear signal in terms of safety and quality standards with its new quality brand, Schnabels. The label documents the strictly tested 08_Introducing_Schnabels_250x167product quality of the rubber ducks. „We have had the material tested at great expense, in order to clearly distinguish ourselves on the market,” explained Jan Breuer, also a CEO of mbw. Together with a Chinese employee and chemists from the TÜV Rhineland and Eurofins, Walter Both visited the production sites in China. Samples were taken on-site and inspected by independent testing institutes. The results formed the basis for concrete guidelines on basic materials and colours, which have been implemented henceforth for the production of the rubber ducks. All items are made from phthalate-free PVC and conform to the regulations of EN 71 standard.
