D – The Newsweek initiated by the German supplier association, BWL, toured seven German major cities for the twelfth time with around 100 exhibitors from May 6-22, 2014. The novelty show for users, who are invited to the event by their trade partners, kicked off with a Distributor’s Day in Frankfurt am Main. The event that specifically invites promotional products distributors and their employees to inform themselves about the novelties in a targeted manner before the user days get underway, evidently didn’t go down as well in 2014 as in the previous year. The second day of the event in Frankfurt enjoyed a much higher attendance. Following Frankfurt, the Roadshow carried on to six other cities in Germany. Furthermore, the majority of the exhibiting suppliers presented themselves together with the Belgian and Austrian trade at two international shows: the PromGifts in Brussels (March 18-20) and the marke [ding] in Vienna (May 15).

The visitors were not only able to look forward to product novelties, but also to innovations regarding the stand concept of the roadshow: Many exhibitors implemented a new presentation system that was specially developed for the Newsweek, which comprises of a three-piece back wall with shelving. The system not only creates more scope for an individual company presence, it will in future also replace the hitherto uniform exhibition stands used. The official attendance figure was not available at the time of going to press.

A detailed report will be published in eppi magazine, No. 100 (August 6, 2014).
