Samsonite International S.A. has announced its results for the fiscal year 2013. According to company statements, the net turnover of the globally-operating company that is based in Luxembourg exceeded the 2-billion dollar mark for the first time ever. Driven by the ongoing robust growth on the travel market, the net venue increased by 15% up to a record result of approx. 2.04 bil. US dollars (approx. 1.49 billion euros). In 2013, the group’s net turnover in Europe increased by 10.7% and 49.8 mil. US dollars (approx. 36.4 mil. Euros) up to 515.2 mil. US dollars (approx. 376.4 mil. Euros) compared to 2012. According to official sources, a strong growth in turnover in local currencies was achieved in diverse European markets through the positive sales of new products, including the new product series made of the material Curv as well as various suitcase models made of polypropylene.
