NL – On April 2-3, 2014 the 14th edition of the PromZ took place at the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht. The organisers, Het Portaal Uitgevers had decided beforehand to reduce the format of the show from three days down to two. According to official sources, 168 exhibitors took part this year – i.e. approx. 20 more than last year. In spite of many small uniform stands, the fair was as always professionally organised with great attention to detail. The visitors were initially led through the BrandZ pavilion, where brand-name suppliers were located, from here they moved into an open area, where Dutch and international promotional products suppliers and distributors presented their line-ups. As usual, there was a spacious lounge area for breaks and informal discussions. The prize-ceremony of the “Promotional Products of the Year” was held once again: Five award-winning products were elected by an expert jury and a further five by the visitors of the PromZ. A novelty this year was the special K&D (Kitchen & Dining) zone, where retail brands from the kitchen and dining table segments displayed their wares and fares.
According to the official figures, 4,824 visitors (2013: 6,154 visitors albeit over three days) passed through the entrance of the PromZ. The fair is mostly visited by users and almost exclusively by Dutch companies. Both organisers and exhibitors were satisfied with the results. Good signs for the next edition of the PromZ on March 25-26, 2015 – when the fair will be celebrating its 15th anniversary. A detailed report will be published in eppi magazine, No. 99 (June 4, 2014).
