UK – The 8th edition of the Trade Only National Show took place on January 22 and 23, 2014 in the Ricoh Arena in Coventry. According to the organisers, Trade Only, set records regarding both the number of exhibitors and visitors present. More than 3,000 visitors from the promotional products trade attended the show this year – in 2013 the 3,000 mark wasn’t quite reached. The BPMA Education Day, which was organised in the Ricoh Arena on the eve of the Trade Only National Show by the British industry association, the BPMA (British Promotional Merchandise Association), who is also the cooperation partner of the event, also went down very well: Approx. 200 participants took the opportunity to further educate themselves in lectures and workshops on industry-relevant themes.
350 exhibitors (2013: 346) – according to the organisers from 55 countries – showed their colours or were represented by their respective country representatives. Many of the exhibitors not only praised the frequency and quality of the visitors, but also the Trade Only team’s organisation of the show. Overall, an optimistic cheerful atmosphere reigned, which is an indication that the British market is experiencing an upturn.
Once again, the BPMA organised the Annual Awards Dinner at the evening of the first show day. According to official accounts, approx. 900 guests attended the prize-giving ceremony of the BPMA Awards, which were presented among others to the Distributor of the Year (Brand Addition, LSI, Allwag Promotions) and to the Supplier of the Year (Preseli, The Pen Warehouse) as well as to the “Personality of the Year“ (Evan Lewis, Everything Environmental/Ecopromo).
The next edition of the Trade Only National Show will take place on January 21 and 22 at the same venue.
A detailed report will be printed in the next issue of eppi magazine, No. 97 (February 12, 2014).
