CH – The knife specialist, Wenger, is celebrating its 120th anniversary this year. The company was founded in 1893 in Delémont in the Swiss Canton of Jura, to supply a pocket-knife for the Swiss Army. Today, Wenger is a global player that delivers its products, including Swiss watches, bags, outdoor and travel accessories, to over 150 countries around the globe.
At the beginning of 2013, Victorinox took over Wenger’s knife business at the location in Delémont, where Victorinox knives are now manufactured by Wenger employees. The anniversary year is therefore also the last year that knives of the Wenger brand will be produced. The traditional company is paying tribute to this by producing 2013 sets of the limited collection “United Woods“, which reflects the innovativeness and globality of the brand: The five knives contained in the set represent all five Continents, each is made of the corresponding wood and the set is enhanced by an original Wenger pocket-knife, which visualises the innovative power of the Swiss with the tools that have been created in the course of the company’s history.
