EU wants to limit cosmetic advertising

Eu Kommission

EU – The EU wants to put a stop to exaggerated promises in the cosmetic advertising sector. A corresponding new regulation is expected to be adopted at the end of May and put into force shortly thereafter following its approval by the European Parliament and the EU governments. The planned regulations are based on the Health Claims Regulation of 2007 governing health-related advertising statements in the food advertising sector. The draft regulation states that advertising statements have to be clear and comprehensible for the average consumer and be supported by sufficient and verifiable evidence.
