Maison&Objet, Paris: Important platform for the international deco market

F – This year’s spring edition of the Maison&Objet, the international trade fair for design and interior furnishing opened its doors from January 18-22, 2013 in Paris. According to the official figures in spite of the heavy snowfall and the traffic problems this caused, 76,149 visitors made their way to the French capital. Despite an 11% decline in attendance compared to the spring event in 2012 (85,766), which the organisers attributed to the fact that the bad weather conditions had hindered many of the French visitors from attending, the show, where one in two of the visitors came from abroad, still remains to be an important platform for the international deco and designer market.

Regardless of the extraordinary weather conditions the number of foreign visitors remained stable: According to the official reports, 42% of the guests came from overseas, for example from the Mid-East (United Arab Emirates 19%, Kuwait 38%), from Asia (13%) and Northern America and Eastern Europe.

The autumn edition of the Maison&Objet Paris is scheduled from September 6-10, 2013. Furthermore, the Maison&Objet Asia is going to celebrate its premiere at the Marina Bay Sands Hotel and Convention Center in Singapore from March 10-13, 2014.
