60 years of FYVAR: Festive event in Madrid


E – The Spanish/Portuguese industry association, FYVAR, is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year. Founded in May 1953 by several suppliers and distributors, the association is one of the oldest in Europe. Since its inception the FYVAR has been pursuing the goal of improving and promoting the standing and professionalism of the industry as well as representing the interests of its members. The current President is Gabriel Moese from Spain (Stricker España).

FYVAR celebrated its anniversary in style at the Shôko Madrid on January 17, 2013. In addition to a number of attractions such as a comedian, a dinner and a live band, this year’s FYVAR Awards were also presented during the event. It was the sixth time the award, the aim of which is to pay tribute to commitment and professionalism within the industry, was conveyed and this year they went to Erfe Publicidad (Solera Award), Phoenix Publicidad (Solidarity Award), Gotas Garcés y Pardos (Innovation Award), New Wave Sportswear (Creativity Award), Amalia López (Creativity Award), Nath 2004 (Gacela Award) and to Armando Galve (Star Award). Furthermore, Josep Maria Pont, currently the association’s treasurer, received a special award for his decade-long commitment. Many members, friends and patrons joined the celebrations in commemoration of 60 successful years, bringing a long day to a close: Namely, the FYVAR met up previous to the anniversary event for their 60th General Meeting, during the course of which among other things new articles of association and an ethical code were approved – measures, which ensure that the association is well-aligned for the future.
